About this Experience
The Shearwater Aviation Museum acquires, conserves, organizes, researches and interprets artifacts and stories that tell the tale of Canadian Maritime Military Aviation. A number of permanent exhibits are featured at the museum with maritime aviation and naval history being a key theme. The aircraft collection has grown to 24 airframes, combined with the use of experienced guides, videos Virtual Reality and interactives, SAM tells the story of ship borne aircraft and sub hunting. Included is an exhibit about Lt. Hampton Gray, VC and HMCS Bonaventure, Canada’s last aircraft carrier. The exhibit includes a reconstruction of the briefing room aboard the aircraft carrier, complete with original seats. The SAM also has a research archive and lending library.
Note: Admission fees for the Shearwater Aviation Museum are by donation so we've valued that donation at $7.50 (which is of course, covered by the pass).
